This tracker logs the regular reports that show how many electric vehicles (EVs) are being sold. It starts with those published on October 1, 2025. It was last checked on October 7, 2026.
Four recurring reports get an entry, dated the day they were published:
A future edition is listed as scheduled only when its publisher has announced the date. ACEA does so in its press release calendar.
The four do not count the same thing. Tesla reports vehicles delivered, with no regional breakdown. BYD reports sales of new energy vehicles, a total that includes plug-in hybrids and commercial vehicles. So each BYD entry also gives its battery-electric passenger car figure. ACEA counts registrations, and its headline battery-electric numbers are year-to-date totals. Cox publishes estimates. Figures are copied as published, BYD's are unaudited, and later revisions are not applied to older entries.
Left out on purpose: analyst forecasts and consensus figures, other carmakers' and other countries' reports, and reports on single models. Financial results are left out too, as are estimates from anyone other than these four publishers.
Targets set by the organizations named. Dates like these often move.

Solid-state batteries swap a lithium-ion cell's liquid electrolyte for a solid one. The IEA classed fully solid cells as prototypes in May 2026; carmakers target first cars for 2027-28.
LFP is the cheapest and most common EV battery, NMC stores more energy per kilogram, sodium-ion copes best with cold, and all-solid-state cells are still prototypes.
